How do these breeders get their bulls to 600-800 kg?

At what stage is Goat meat prime meat?

What breeds of sheep do I breed for wool and which ones are profitable for mutton?

Are there indigenous livestock breeds that have a high international demand!? How do I get to access these markets?

Does Livestock mean just goats, cows, sheep & pigs!?

Find out at the annual ‘ Livestock breeders show ‘ this weekend 21-23 July at Jamhuri Park.

How do you know you’ve reached Nairobi?

Nairobi signs ©muoki kioko 2016

If you don’t see these either on lamp poles or trees as you enter the city centre from the East/Airport, then you are probably in another city.
Described as a gregarious scavenger ie likes being in groups/moving in groups scavenging dead matter and rubbish dumps – does that then describe the environment they thrive in (an environment being the total ecosystem & ALL it’s components)?? Else, where do they scavenge..
Known as a ‘marabou stork’, Nairobi is among the few known breeding sites of natures own “rubbish recycler”. Making Nairobi a good starting site to ‘bird watch’.

Karen Blixen Farm

image

A 4500 acre farm, of which 600 acres was used for coffee farming by Karen and Baron Blixen. On seperation in 1921 Karen ran the farm until 1931
When she returned to Denmark and pursued writing. Amoung famous books she wrote was ‘Out of Africa’ which was later shot as a movie.
The farm was bought by a Remy
Marin, who broke the land into 20 acre parcels for development creating the present suburb of Karen in Nairobi.
Ndege road almost opposite Karen Hospital was the landing strip for planes coming to her farm house, with the most famous guest being Finch Hatton (her boyfriend). She used to light up different coloured lamps and hung them at her verandah to indicate her mood to be or not to be seen 🙂
Most Europeans who settled in the country brought with them many of their customs like horse drawn carts made of wood and iron wheels like the one above.
To learn more you can visit her farm house that’s now Karen Blixen Museum. To find out what else to see/visit around the house purchase ‘In and around Nairobi by Muoki Kioko’ that has over 200 tour options around Nairobi.

Make yeye of wealthIn Nairobi we have as Many Churches as ones imagination can stretch, ranging from more established missions like Catholic, to African inland Missions, to Pentecostal churches. Some churches are even niche specific targeting mid-upper class looking for unconventional services to others that operate in 5star hotels targeting the “high class” looking for luxury environment to those churches started by Pastors who’ve had a calling to ministry and are willing to start out in an iron sheet structure in a slum.

This service(in this picture) had a very interesting sermon on make ‘yeye’ {*a Nigerian word} of wealth! To read about it click Here

Monument and buildings that signify ‘nyayo era’. A period headed by Kenya’s longest serving president [24 years].
An interesting tour to get views of locals on that era, the good and not so good. Also what lessons Kenyans did learn?
